Hey Emma, I’m so jealous! I too spent my teenage evenings smoking out of my bedroom window listening to Summer of ‘69!!! Right now I’m in Nashville, and it LEAKS live music from its pores! It’s everywhere, band after band after band, bar after bar after bar. It was so overwhelming and wonderful, I cried! Little beats a good gig!! X
Oh wow you’re in Nashville!! That is epic 💃💃. I visited there that same summer I worked in Santa Cruz and I’ve always wanted to go back 🎸. What a treat - are you tempted to get up and sing?? 💕
My Bryan Adams phase was around the end of the 90s when he did that duet with Mel C (which I still listen to, Emma!)
The music of our teens is evocative, and steeped in extreme emotion. I took my best pal to see Hanson (only half for a joke) a few years ago when they played Royal Festival Hall because we were absolutely mad for them when we were 13/14. It was a total nostalgia trip!
Aah Hanson - in my mind they are about twelve years old!! Love a nostalgia trip and there's something so particularly poignant about those early teen memories isn't there 😍
I love this so much Emma. 1. Swoah Bryan Adams at the Albert Hall - I hope it was everything you ever dreamed of.
Buuuuut
2. Friends. I am part of a group of 7 girls who have been firm friends since the 1st year of secondary school in 1990. They are simply ‘the girls’ & since we became adults (30 ish) we have had at least one weekend away a year and when we lived closer to each other, often two. Nothing fancy, shared rooms, cheap cottage in the countryside or sharing beds in each other’s houses. Absolute heaven. I literally have no idea how I’d survive without my girls, they are the actual best ❤️
Swoahhhh indeed!! OMG it was just so good. But yes, those friends, I feel exactly the same. I'm not sure how I would have got through some periods of my life without them. We are lucky indeed ❤️
Loved this so much. Some songs trigger the clearest memories, don’t they? Those teen years especially! I still talk to friends from that time of my life, even though we live oceans apart. Just video called with one the other day! Not the same as having them down the road, but honestly, so many years have gone by and that connection never wavers.❤️
Id love to see Bryan Adams too! With seats! Reminds me of a holiday in Llandudno with a school friend and her family. Her dad walking up to us and ordering us home after finding us with some boys😆

It is such a wonderful bond, and music brings something back in a way that nothing else can! x
