That’s a wonderful story. Random acts of kindness can go such a long way and reading this is an excellent reminder of how fortunate I am (even when I think I’ve much less cash than I used to have). Thank you for sharing 🧡xx

I know - that's exactly it. We're all skint at this time of year, but it just gave me some real perspective - and it was the fact that the woman who bought the card will never know how significant it was!! It was such a beautiful moment x

Aww that is so lovely - and that card is utterly beautiful. We just never know do we? I journaled last year how grateful I was that whilst I might have little in the way of income right now, I can go into the supermarket and buy the food I need at any time. Such a luxury and a privilege that is so easy to take for granted. And I’ve never not been able to afford a £2.25 card. Makes you realise how rich we really are.

Love you Emma, you express thing so how I feel as well! My story is this year. We are running the Rotary Christmas Cave in Feilding NZ. It's a 50 year tradition where anyone can come ad see Santa. This year we've had all sorts in (as usual) but two have stood out. The first was a happy slightly drunk chap in receipt of 'care in the community' its a 2 dollar donation to come. I said that to him and he looked very serious, opened his hand. In it were three small chocolate Santas Claus. He picked one and gave it to me. I considered this and said here is your change and put it back in to his other hand. He was happy. Later he said we needed to bring his family to see the beautiful decorations.

The other event happened when a young girl came in just in front of a mum and her child. Without a pause she said I'm paying for three people. The person on the till thought nothing of it until after when I told her that they were not related or known to each other. The young girl clearly was using her pocket money to do it and the mum was speechless. It's these random acts that make life worthwhile.

What a beautiful story as we are heading into Christmas. I think the news would like to have us believe that the world is crumbling around us…but your story reminds us that humanity is very much alive xx

exactly - the news is relentlessly bleak, but there is still such love and kindness ❤️

Ah, I may have shed a wee tear, Emma. Thank you for telling us about these women and the stunning card. I remember the "Random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty" movement. I could never get along with the "senseless" part. Generosity makes perfect sense to me.

Beautiful ❤️ In my local community here in Auckland often someone who is out of money and can't afford food will post on the community Facebook page. The flood of offers that are generated are always deeply touching. Total strangers will drop off bags of groceries to their door or offer the extras they have cooked for their own family dinner. I've dropped off the occasional bag of groceries myself and it feels like THIS is what community is really about 😊

Oh that has given me goosebumps. That is just so lovely. It goes to show how much kindness and humanity there is in our world when what we see in our newsfeed is all the horror and destruction. Thank you for sharing and Happy Christmas!! xx
