Temporarily out of stock
I may have seemed a little quiet on here for the last week or so, but that is because my life is currently everything but!
Having returned on Tuesday from the most wonderful experience at the Alnwick Storyfest, I have LOTS of delights to share - both in the sense of recommendations - and also what is has brought up for me around community, friendship, home, and what it means to belong…but it won’t be out today.
There is so much creativity swirling around, but in a week with an extraordinary amount of other demands, I find myself temporarily out of stock. Bear with me, folks whilst I bake the next batch of goodies…
Let me explain
I know you don’t need me to, but it’s just one of those weeks. I have the FINAL deadline for delivery of the manuscript for Breaking Waves to my publisher on Friday; and although I finished the book some time ago, revisiting it has brought on a whole new manic round of editing, tweaking, revising, doubting, re-reading, recording and listening, all whilst skimming over the intense emotions contained within.
Additionally I have 3 x short story deadlines due on the same day (obviously), and I’m presenting a Masterclass to the brilliant
Club on Wednesday on how I got my book deal! Am actually very excited for that.Oh and then there’s that crazy little thing called life - Taz’s 15th birthday, managing teenagers, driving everybody everywhere as they are at the age of parties but not yet driving, school and college logistics, medical appointments, dog sitting, vaguely attempting to have a social life - outrageous, I know!!! Anyway, you know the drill.
So whilst my shelf is currently down to crumbs, I am going to share with you a couple from the archives, taking them back out from behind the paywall. I hope you enjoy them!
My Ted Lasso Moment - this is especially interesting in the light of where I am with the book now! It just goes to show what happens if you do, indeed, believe…
Together Alone - the first ever piece I wrote during one of
’s Heartleap writing hours - which have since led me to that glorious weekend in Alnwick, as well as presenting a Masterclass. It’s only been 6 months since I joined, but a whole world has opened up, for which I am forever grateful.
These are ones I published quite early on, so if you’re new to
you may not have seen these before, and I hope they bring a smile to your face on a Sunday morning. There is also this interview with my literary agent which was such fun!
I’ll see you all very soon for the next batch.
As always,
Love & lemons 💕🍋
