I could comment on every paragraph Em but there’s not enough space or time. I identify with so much you have written. Your style so simple and engaging. The description of the church scene so vivid and captures accurately how in the depth of grief we can instead be overwhelmed with laughter and humour. I think it speaks of not only your beloved fathers character but I suspect also your brother’s , ever present . The description of the quilt is a joy to read and the Tapestry of our lives is a favourite metaphor/ analogy I love and use. It’s no coincidence Carole Kings song of same name is a much loved piece of music. Beautiful writing of yours that I’m growing accustomed to It’s very comforting reading
Thank you so much Margaret for your lovely words. I don’t know the Carole King song but I will look it up and have a listen. It’s always the significance in the small moments that strikes me. The ones after the dust has settled, and there is space to notice ❤️
I've been thinking of your Dad and this beautiful tribute to him. Your writing is amazing, Em. I just love it. Thank you.

This is moving, Emma, all the more so because the quality of the man shines so strongly through his sense of humour.
Thank you Jeannie 🙏💕
