What the hell is Strava? No! Donβt tell me - I donβt want to know!! It is more than enough for me to cope with email, messaging, WhatsApp and Facebook!!
All I really want is a familiar voice on the other end when I hear my phone ping (if I do hear it ping!). Itβs called β a double generation gapβ π€π€ . Loved the poem - so so resonant of all our lives today ππ
Your poem made me smile πβ¦ Iβve just recently gone through a cull of platforms, driven by a very sad and wounding breakup, wishing to regain control of my focus and energy; so far I have deactivated my accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Strava, LinkedIn, and so many others which came along or was invited to join by my ex, I have also culled people with whom I no longer have a meaningful connection.
It means fewer notifications, a decreased need to keep updating everyone, everywhere, about everything, and the best thing no more FOMO.
Your doorbell being called Susan π is so funny, I hadnβt thought about naming mine, however my robot vacuum cleaner is called Nero π
Well, that was fun! I first thought you were using an AI to create a poem. I should have known better, dear Em.
I have a superficial love for tech...as long as I can find where I've stashed files and don't make a mistake signing into online banking, a guarantee I will be locked out until a kind person in India brings the key. I've even dabbled in AI generated images although I feel guilty about finding something from a real person and making the attribution.
Haha it didn't even occur to me to use AI to create a poem!! Maybe I should try that and compare the two?! I did have a play with AI images recently but it was just all a bit strange... I think I have a classic love/hate relationship...
This is brilliant emma! π€£ Iβm with you, I have no idea whatβs going on nearly all the time! And my files are all over the place. Maybe we should have a files sorting session π xx
Yes - we should have a meet up in Richmond and inspire each other to do that!! Although I'm sure we'd much rather chat creativity, jewellery, books, tea...π€£
Strava and Palarva! Genius rhyming! (I think 'palarva' is one of my favourite words - although never sure how to spell it!)
But I completely AGREE with all of this! Too much tech. Too much to learn. Too many headache-inducing things to remember! And I LOVE the poem. I listened to the audio (another thing I love) which made it even better.

I can so relate. Being in the same room is one of the reasons I insist on coming to the office to work almost every day. Brilliant poem!
Aah thanks so much - and yes if I was still in the traditional work world, I would MUCH rather be in the office than at home. I do miss that x
Great poem.. love it! πβ€οΈ x
thanks honey! x
Hahaha this made me laugh out loud! My next job is also to update my website but Iβm hiding from it π«£
Don't.... it's like a cloud hanging over me... trying to remember how to operate wordpress π€£
An impressive way with words here Emma! thanks for sharing π
aah thanks Lauren, was just having a bit of fun. Something different! xx
Fully identify!
My grandchildren donβt βdoβ email and I long for something more than bite sized Snapchats that disappear as soon as I open them!
Add to that Moodle at the Uni! Aargh!
Oh yes Moodle - I'd forgotten about that! The multiple methods of online learning...argh indeed x
Love the poem Susan. Iβm a little bit younger than you but I still recognize myself in your palaver.
I envy those people who say Iβm only on (insert platform), but think; Good for youβ¦ But what about the rest of us π₯΄
I WISH I could only be on one platform, it seems the world is determined to fracture my attention!! xx
BIG FAN of the poem and less so of technology but alas I fear that itβs mastery is the key to eternal youth, and so I persevere. Sigh.
Thanks lovely... yes I share the struggle!! x
