So having arrived at the retreat one year later, via a wedding in Northumberland and a visit with an old friend in Letterkenny, I find myself on the edge of Europe with a wonderful bunch of writers from the US, Canada, Scotland and the UK.
The tension was broken on the first evening with a good old dance, involving two champion Irish dancers and a broom. It broke the ice, that’s for sure. The following morning, we settled down to the work of it. We had been given an assignment in advance: ‘A Pivotal Moment’.
